Disappointment

dis•ap•point•ment --  [dis-uh-point-muh nt]

Disappointment is the feeling of dissatisfaction that follows the failure of expectations to manifest. It is a source of psychological stress. (From Wikipedia)

Disappointment is a subjective response related to the anticipated rewards.[ The psychological results of disappointment vary greatly among individuals; while some recover quickly, others mire in frustration or blame or become depressed

Disappointment quotes:

The pleasure of expecting enjoyment is often greater than that of obtaining it, and the completion of almost every wish is found a disappointment” - Samuel Johnson

Women suffer more from disappointment than men, because they have more of faith and are naturally more credulous. ~ Marguerite de Valois

Hope is itself a species of happiness, and, perhaps, the chief happiness which this world affords: but, like all other pleasures immoderately enjoyed, the excesses of hope must be expiated by pain; and expectations improperly indulged must end in disappointment. ~ Samuel Johnson

HOW TO DEAL WITH DISAPPOINTMENT (from a website)

1. Stop. Calm Down. Give yourself some time. Things might not seem nearly so bad tomorrow.

2. Get your feelings out in a way that doesn't hurt you or anybody else.

3. Talk about it with your parents or a good friend.

4. Ask yourself if this is really worth getting angry or upset about.

5. Think about what you can learn from the experience and how you can do better next time.

6. Don't judge yourself. Failing at something does not mean that you are a failure.

The things above would be applicable if you are the cause of your disappointment. But what if others was the cause of this. How would you deal with it? 

ISSA

The Brazilian designer Daniella Issa Helayel, the founder of the label Issa, was Kate Middleton’s designer of choice for her wedding gown. But who is Daniella and what is Issa. According to Wikipedia, inspired by Coco Chanel, Daniella Issa Helayel started making stylish dresses that she could wear for daytime meetings and evening cocktail parties after being unable to find anything that pleased her in the shops. Issa the label was founded in London in 2001 after she was working as a fashion consultant and buyer, and her range of delectable silk print jersey dresses were quickly snapped up by the likes of Madonna, Scarlett Johansson and Naomi Campbell.

Kate has been photographed in various Issa dresses on several occasions and she was once thought to be the “unofficial muse” of the designer and rumored to be receiving dresses for free.

For some reasons i can't seem to upload the ISSA dresses that i saw.  Will try that in my next post.

Linea Pelle Collection

I saw a contest in a blog giving away a Linea Pelle bag. I said what? What the heck is a Linea Pelle bag. I admit I’m not really into brands. And no I don’t desire owning one because I know they are expensive. And to a breadwinner of the family, I would think the cost of the bag would be a big help to my family. But still I would love to browse the net for some designer bags I like that is worn by celebrity. And though I do browse occasionally, I really don’t know the known bag brands.

Here is what i saw in Wikipedia:
Linea Pelle is a company based in Los Angeles, with distribution in Japan, Germany, and Canada, which sells handbags, men’s and women’s belts, and accessories. According to Walker’s Research it has fewer than 25 employees and sales below 10 million.

Linea Pelle also offers chic casual handbags and small leather goods that are available in stores globally. LP belts and handbags are hand crafted from washed Italian leathers which results in a soft feel and a vintage look.

Mira K. Anzaruth, the creative founder of Linea Pelle Collection belts for women, has a diverse background in ready-to-wear design. As a boutique owner of New York’s East 57th Street, Mira saw an opportunity in the accessories market, and the concept of casual luxury belts was born. Creating custom designs with signature detailing and trendsetting style. She insists on using washed Italian leathers with a hand color process and artisan craftsmanship.

Linea Pelle is most famous for soft, slouchy shapes handbags that they come in. These bags are meant for casual, everyday wear yet their intricate little details and high quality leather create unique and distinctive vintage look. Linea Pelle Collection is sold worldwide and has become a favorite among young Hollywood celebrities such as Jessica Simpson, Lauren Conrad, Paris Hilton, Tara Reid, Rihanna, Katherine Heigl, and Linsay Lohan. Linea Pelle is also well-known for its high quality of standards in hand-crafted Italian belts. There is a large collection of leather accessories for men and women. No two belts are exactly the same.

And so I went to the website of linea pelle collection, and instantly I fell in love with these bags.

Muniz shoes

I love these shoes. Carmina Villaroel, an actress and host in the Philippines has ventured into shoes business. All were named from her closest friends and relatives. The designs were very modern and most ladies would want to wear it. There were few flat shoes, and here is the one that I liked.

Shoes name is Antonia.

Prices of her shoes ranges from around P1,700 to around P2,800 though I think I saw one at P4,500. There were no shoes that have kitten heels (of course!) and all of it have more than 4 inches I think. I like the shoes she named from one of my favorite actress and host, Gelli de Belen.

That is Gianelli, available in brown and black.

Then my favorite of them all which I am thinking of ordering.

Her name is Bianca. I like the heels, I like net like design and the loop strap. I hope I will made up my mind to order it, because I heard ladies are going gaga and they are only producing limited quantity. I just don’t know if the shoes is comfortable though since no one can attest to that since the brand is fairly new.

So ladies try to check out the shoes at http://www.munizshoes.com/. I like that that Carmina herself is modeling the shoes. She said that they are only taking online orders, they don’t have any other account or is not available in stores.

Eat, Pray, Love

Unlike all the girls who liked the book, I for one found the book boring. Yes, it has some exciting parts and you wouldn’t want to wait till the next scenes. I’ve read some reviews that the author injected some humor but then, it’s either I don’t have the sense of humor, or I do not share the part.

Basically the story is really about eating in Italy, Praying in India and Finding love in Indonesia. But her storytelling for me was a bit dragging. There she is writing about the food, how good it looks and hot tasty and yummy it was. But when I was reading it, I was having a hard time picture the food. I cannot imagine it being tasty from her description.

Don’t shoot me! I don’t have anything against the author. In fact when I saw the trailer of its movie version starring Julia Roberts, and found out that it was a book, I went to a bookstore and bought the book. But then it took me two weeks to finish it. If not for the popularity of the book, and the movie, I would not finish the book, but I wanted to compare the movie and the book eventually. Usually when I find an interesting book, I just finish it less than a week, sometimes in just 2 nights, but it surprise me to see that I have been reading it for two weeks.

I found the pray part the most dragging and boring part of the book. Maybe because I don’t do yoga that I didn’t appreciate it. On the other hand, I’m thinking that if it is written nicely, I would be enticed to try yoga. One interesting part for me was the character of Richard from Texas as well as that guy from New Zealand who gave her the key to that place where he eventually “talked” with his husband. It was exciting for me to read a mentioned of a Filipino in her class; too bad that’s just about it. Well I know several people, friends and celebrities into yoga, so I wouldn’t be surprised if someone went to India to go and do it there.

I only found a few interesting things about her story in Bali, but I felt like I wanted to stop her for giving that much money to that mother and daughter. But I found the kid interesting. It also amazed me how she was able to raise that much money. It was interesting to see that she found somebody to love in Bali. Would I buy the 2nd book that talks about that? Nah.. I would probably just go to the bookstore and read the last few pages to see the ending.

The movie is another story. I hope to catch it one of these days.

Touching moments on Michael Jackson memorial

It was touching.. sad.. and memorable memorial.. Truly fit for the King Of Pop. Brooke Shields who have known MJ since she was 13 tells of her memories with the Pop Icon. Mentioning that his favorite song is not any of his song, but "Smile" i think from Charlie Chaplin. I was in tears by the time she finished her speech. Magic Johnson's speech was funny relieving his reaction to know that MJ love KFC chicken. Very nice to know one of the funny side of Michael. And of course, it was a very good exposure to KFC. I love Will you be there by Jennifer Hudson who is glowing in white. As well as the kid from Britain, Shaneen. Maybe they saw Michael in him when he was young, that is why he was invited. Again, I was in tears when User sang Gone too soon, and when Stevie Wonder performed.

But i think there were two memorable moments on the funeral. When Jermaine Jackson sang "Smile" and when Paris, the daughter spoke. It was really touching, stabs your heart into pieces, makes you broke down in tears. She said, "Ever since I was born, daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine. And I just want to say that I love him so much."

It was just so sad.

Weddings Gowns - Jackets, Shrugs, Bolero, et.al

Like most girls, we dreamt of our own wedding. We fancy wedding gowns, those flowing trains and trails, those lace and tulle. Even as grown up, I still love to look at wedding gowns. With the advent of internet, I get to see lots and lots of styles to choose from. Though I know my choice would still change when I finally started fitting and talking to designers and all, I still fancy a wedding gown with either a bolero or a shrug. So far here are some of the ones I like.

Here are some on a dress:

And then of course with the wedding gown

Don't you just love them all? What's your pick?
