PERMANENT - David Cook
Is this the moment where I look you in the eye?
Forgive my broken promise that you'll never see me cry
And everything, it will surely change
Even if I tell you I won't go away today
Will you think that you're all alone
When no one's there to hold your hand?
When all you know seems so far away
And everything is temporary, rest your head
I'm permanent
I know he's living in hell every single day
And so I ask, oh God is there some way for me to take his place?
And when they say it's all touch and go
I wish I could make it go away but still you say
Will you think that you're all alone
When no one's there to hold your hand?
When all you know seems so far away
And everything is temporary, rest your head
I'm permanent, I'm permanent
Is this the moment where I look you in the eye?
Forgive my promise that you'll never see me cry
I am loving this song by David Cook. In fact, I even requested it to my favorite radio station and they have it played. As I am listening to it, I just learned the news that an old friend in the office is resigning. She came in my area and base on her current situation and predicament, resignation is the best option. As David Cook is saying he’s love to his brother is permanent, here I am thinking why there is nothing permanent. Last month, two best friends from work also left the company, just a week ago, I just received goodbye from a friend, same company again. I am at my 7th year, just had my 6th anniversary last April. Friends who have left are on the 6-7th year length of stay. Am I missing something? Is there a pattern? When you are on the same length of stay and all your friends are leaving, while for some time you are also feeling restless is it best to stay? But there are other factors to think of, family you support, finances, present economic situation, plus the thought that you are not sure what the culture is in the next company you work for.
I just hope I would survive this journey… then it would be my time to change my status to other than permanent.

He's out of our life... Michael Jackson
I just hope no one would ride with his popularity. I know for sure all his albums and cd's would be sold out. People would want to relive his music. If there are shirts or items about him would be sold out in minutes. People are like that. They realize your value when you are gone. Award giving bodies would put him in Hall of Fame now.
Let's pray for his family. Most especially his children. Everything he did in the past would be buried now. Not the time to take out the skeletons in the closet.
Let's continue to live with his music. Continue to love his voice. Continue to adore his dance moves.
Together let's pray for his soul. For the King of Pop was finally called to the Kingdom of God.
Gone too soon - Michael Jackson
awwww...
So sad to hear it in the morning...
Yes... The King of Pop is gone.. Michael Jackson is dead. Reportedly of a cardiac arrest, they are still checking the cause. His death came less than a month before the start of his 50 sold out concerts at London's O2 arena. It's just so sad that the concert would start his comeback to the music scene. And would wipe out his debts.
Let us pray for his soul, as well as the children he have left.
Gone to soon. He is now out of our life. Michael Jackson at 50.

Adam Lambert - Mad World lyrics
All around are me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for the daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
And their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrows
No tomorrow, no tomorrow
(Chorus)
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which in dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very very,
Mad world, Mad world
Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy birthday, happy birthday
And they feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me
[Chorus]
And I find it kind of funny,
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I fine it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very very
Mad world, Mad world
Mad world, Mad world
La Luz Resort
*picture courtesy of La Luz resort
Since it is the 1st anniversary of the photography club in our office, we decided that our June activity would be in a beach. So we went to scout resorts in Laiya, we originally wanted to go to Kabayan Resort since we wanted to cook our own food, but then they the beach is rented by one company so we had our next pick, which is La Luz resort. We paid reservations and also rented a van as our transportation.
So we met in front of our office in Makati and leave at around 5am. Pick one member in Petron alabang, and then we went to Petron in South expressway to pick another member and also to buy some breakfast. We already had a list of our orders, after we gave our orders, the crew said that they didnt have burgers. So we again scrabble to take the orders of those who originally wanted burgers. Naturally, it would take long since others would still think of what they want. We have taken some time to finish our order. We then notice a woman get past us, walk by the next window where you will be paying. As we past her there, so said to us in an angry voice, "Next time, please list your orders!" well we had our list, it's just that Mcdo didnt have most of the items on our list so we had to think of another order. So off we went to Laluz, we arrive at around 830am. Laluz was at the end of the long line of resorts in Laiya San Juan Batangas. The resort looks nice, we are just there on a day trip. They gave us welcome drinks, but then again since the drive is around 3 hours, my friends and I went to the comfort room first. So we never get our welcome drink since when we came back they are also in our cabana. They gave us once cabana, since only one name was in the reservation. After resting for a few minutes, some of us changed into our swimwear, while the others setup their camera being photographers.
Three of us went to check the water, but high waves prevented us to even get near the water. The water looks too deep because of the waves. So we then went to explore the beach on the side. And there we saw rocks and a knee deep water. We asked to guard if we could swim there and he said we can, we just have to be careful with the rocks since it is slippery. We even joke the guard if he would save us, but he said he can always call the lifeguard since he has a radio.
We went to the water and on the other side of one big rock was a girl and a boy swimming there, upon seeing us, they went to the other big rock. :) We invaded their privacy. Well we cant do anything for that since we wanted to swim in that area. Since we are not swimmers, so the knee deep water is just fine with ours. Our other friends eventually went to were we are and we finally had our pics taken. I even dropped my goggles because I almost slipped in one rock. Good thing, there are kids who swim very good and I asked if they could check my goggles, and behold, they found it. I gave them P20 for their effort.
We said that we would just swim until 10am, but we didnt notice the time, she we enjoyed the waves in the rocks. When we came back, we just wait for around 10minutes and then we had our lunch buffet. Food was just fine, there is a fish (taste bland) , pork (grilled), veggies (sayote with shrimp), and soup is sinigang which is too hot (from chili) and have the fat of the pork, plus the fact that it does not taste pork sinigang because instead of kangkong it had mustasa. Desert was sweeten banana with sago and kaong. Mango juice and water was provided. Since the juice was not cold, we asked for buckets of ice.
I just didn't like their public rest room and shower. Since we are on day trip, we didnt have a room and we had to use the public rest room. They had tissue, but they dont have soap or liquid soap. It stinks, and there are only 3 shower area on the same comfort room. One shower area, dont have a place to put your bag and things.
While the others had their session on landscape photography on the rocks, some of us just rest on the cabana and take some nap, i rest on one near the beach, just like what is the picture above, took out some paper works, and read. I was able to take few minutes nap and then read again. Well since I really love looking at the beach, i was able to think straight, manage to plan some things at work, and finally write some things.
We then saw that it is low tide, but still with big waves, we finally went near the shore and play with the waves again. After we took our merienda consists of pansit bihon (went 2x), chicken sandwich, puto kutsinta and iced tea.
We then took our shower, dressed up and had some group pics before we go home. We left before 6pm but then again, it was super duper traffic in Alabang that we got at around 9pm in Makati. I finally got home to Cavite at around 11pm.
Overall it's just a fine day, to relax. I would recommend that since it is 3 hours drive, to spend an overnight instead of a day trip to spend more time to other activities like snorkelling and more swimming time.

Green Day - 21 Guns lyrics
Do you know what's worth fighting for
When it's not worth dying for?
Does it take your breath away
And you feel yourself suffocating?
Does the pain weigh out the pride?
And you look for a place to hide?
Did someone break your heart inside?
You're in ruins...
One, 21 guns
Lay down your arms
Give up the fight
One, 21 guns
Throw up your arms into the sky
You and I
When you're at the end of the road
And you lost all sense of control
And your thoughts have taken their toll
When your mind breaks the spirit of your soul
Your faith walks on broken glass
And the hangover doesn't pass
Nothing's ever built to last
You're in ruins
One, 21 guns
Lay down your arms
Give up the fight
One, 21 guns
Throw up your arms into the sky
You and I
Did you try to live on your own
When you burned down the house and home?
Did you stand too close to the fire?
Like a liar looking for forgiveness from a stone
When it's time to live and let die
And you can't get another try
Something inside this heart has died
You're in ruins
One, 21 guns
Lay down your arms
Give up the fight
One, 21 guns
Throw up your arms into the sky
You and I

Taylor Swift- White Horse Lyrics
Taylor Swift- White Horse
Say you’re sorry
That face of an angel
Comes out just when you need it to
As I paced back and forth all this time
Cause I honestly believed in you
Holding on
The days drag on
Stupid girl,
I should have known, I should have known
[Chorus]
I’m not a princess, this ain’t a fairy tale
I’m not the one you’ll sweep off her feet,
Lead her up the stairwell
This ain’t Hollywood, this is a small town,
I was a dreamer before you went and let me down
Now it’s too late for you
And your white horse, to come around
Baby I was naive,
Got lost in your eyes
And never really had a chance
I had so many dreams
About you and me
Happy endings
Now I know
[Chorus]
I’m not a princess, this ain’t a fairy tale
I’m not the one you’ll sweep off her feet,
Lead her up the stairwell
This ain’t Hollywood, this is a small town,
I was a dreamer before you went and let me down
Now it’s too late for you
And your white horse, to come around
And there you are on your knees,
Begging for forgiveness, begging for me
Just like I always wanted but I’m sooo sorry
Cause I’m not your princess, this ain’t a fairytale
I’m gonna find someone someday who might actually treat me well
This is a big world, that was a small town
There in my rearview mirror disappearing now
And its too late for you and your white horse
Now its too late for you and your white horse, to catch me now
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa
Try and catch me now
Oh, it’s too late
To catch me now

Carlos P. Romulo
My niece asked me to research the life of Carlos P. Romulo for her class assignment. I said that he is the first Filipino to be a Secretary General of the United Nations, (to which I found out later I was wrong) that’s it, because that is what I know of him. My niece then asked me a very innocent question, “United Nation? So he is Mr. Philippines there, when was that?” I smiled. I know I had to research more, so I could give a very definite answer to my niece. So on a very hot Saturday, I went to my old house (since PLDT have not approved the transfer of my phone and DSL) to do research.
Born Carlos Peña Romulo on January 14, 1899 in Camiling Tarlac. He is a son of a former Governor and was married twice. He was a diplomat, politician, soldier, journalist and writer. He held several positions in different newspaper and publications. He graduated from University of the Philippines – Bachelor of Arts (1918); and Master of Arts from Columbia University (1921). He had 82 honorary degrees from different international institution and universities such as Notre Dame University (1935); Rolins College (1946); University of Athens Greece (1948) and Harvard University (1950).
He served eight Presidents of the Philippines from Manuel L. Quezon to Ferdinand Marcos either as a member of the cabinet or as the country’s representative to the United States and United Nations.
He was the first Asian to win Pulitzer Prize in 1942. He wrote 18 books; The United, I walked with Heroes, I Saw the Fall of the Philippines, among others.
Among notable anecdotes on him:
At the third UN General Assembly, held in Paris in 1948, the USSR’s deputy foreign minister, Andrei Vishinsky, sneered at Romulo and challenged his credentials: “You are just a little man from a little country.” “It is the duty of the little Davids of this world,” cried Rómulo, “to fling the pebbles of truth in the eyes of the blustering Goliaths and force them to behave!”
When the UN official seal, which depicts the world, was being selected, Romy looked it over and demanded, “where is the Philippines?” “It’s too small to include,” explained US Senator Warren Austin, who headed the committee. “If we put in the Philippines it would be no more than a dot.” “I want that dot!” Romy insisted. Today, if you look at the UN seal, you will find a tiny dot between the Pacific Ocean and the South China Sea.
In later years, Romulo told another story himself about a meeting with MacArthur and other tall American generals who disparaged his physical stature. "Gentlemen," he declared, "When you say something like that, you make me feel like a dime among nickels."
In 1945 Rómulo acted as Philippine delegate to the United Nations Organization Conference in San Francisco. He was Philippine ambassador to the United Nations from 1946 to 1954. He distinguished himself as the first Asian to become president of the UN General Assembly (Fourth Session, Sept. 20, 1949). In 1950-1951 Rómulo acted as secretary of foreign affairs of the Philippine Republic and, from 1952 on (with some interruptions), as Philippine ambassador to the United States. He was a candidate for the position of United Nations Secretary-General in 1953, but did not win.
In 1980, he was extolled by United Nations Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim as "Mr. United Nations" for his valuable services to the United Nations and his dedication to freedom and world peace. He died at the age of 86 on December 15, 1985 and was buried at the Heroes’ Cemetery.

Boys over Flower –F4 fever is back!
With Boys over flower, they changed the way the girl lead, Geum Jan-Di came in to the school plus they added some things that don’t have in Meteor Garden. Just the same, all the F4 boys are real cute, this time, the male lead Gu Jun Pyo has a curly hair and is so cute! If you look at him for long, you would notice some similarities on his features and that of Jerry Yan. He also has the look and smile that Jerry has so girls easily fall for him too. Another male lead and member of F4 vying for a spot in Jan Di’s heart is Yoon Ji Hoo. He doesn’t have the good looks that Vic Zhou had but he have the same charm that would make girls go gagah for him. In fact, I saw in the news that some fans celebrated his birthday in one restaurant. I think it was their first org gathering or eyeball of some sort. The other two members So Yi Jun and Song Woo Bin are equally cute themselves.
It was previously slotted on a late primetime slot, so with the late time I come home I get to watch the series. However because of a huge demand, the network made it to an early primetime slot. The series is very nice, when I got home early I get to watch some episodes. And I really really love it. Most of the episodes are funny, especially the when either Jun Pyo or Jan-Di is angry or the time they are fighting.
Hotshot – Jerry Yan, Alan (Show) Lou & Wu Chun
Good thing it would a holiday tomorrow, so I am looking forward to seeing these three cute guys playing basketball the last time.

Disappointment
No wonder there are a lot of depressed people. Imagine being excited for something else, thinking about it the whole time. Always checking the time so it would happen, feeling that “happiness” within you. Anticipating that something good will come your way. Telling people around you about it, most of the time bragging about it. But then when the time came, bwalah! It didn’t happen; something came that disrupt the process. Suddenly Mother Nature was against you. All the excitement, the high energy that lifts you up, the happiness within you, all of it, evaporated in mid air in just one pop! It must be the feeling when dementors came near you to suck your happiness. And now what’s left of you, but pain, hurt, anger, negative thoughts coming all over you. Swearing the world, cursing people, blaming everybody.
I was very excited to have my 15minutes of massage. That is something I wanted to do for ages. Ever since the work stress became a heavy burden. Something you wanted to take off your chest. It’s like a load you carry on your shoulders. I was so excited when I came in after lunch reading the email from our HR about the free massage since there are 4 blind masseurs invited to come to the office. I said, finally! Even if I’m not in an air-conditioned room or lying in a soft bed, at least I get to relieve stress. I excitedly sign in; I was the 3rd on the list of the 2nd masseuse. I went on my scheduled time, but then again, they are not yet finished. I don’t want to stand there waiting for it to finish since I don’t want the masseurs to feel the pressure to end the current session because the next one is already waiting. I came back after 5 minutes and they are not yet finished, after 5 minutes I came back. And lo! Another one has taken my place. Talk about list, talk about schedule, talk about the time. Wooo!!! When do we learn about courtesy? Disappointment rushed into me. Nah, I wouldn’t want to go over there and stand for somebody to finish. I find it rude, there’s a reason why there is a list and why there is a schedule. And now what do I feel? It’s already 40mins after the incident, and still I felt hurt, I feel the pain, and I am disappointed. So now, another stress has been loaded on my back. It now hurts, I know because I am stressed. One day, when my schedule permit or my budget allows, I would have my massage. But not now, because I am disappointed.

Franchising business
Anyways, on my way to work yesterday I found a building that is being constructed, it would most likely be a mall and I came upon the idea of franchising. And then I have the same dilemma again. What franchise to choose? Would I have the time to manage it? I am a full-time employee. And I only commute to and from work. Work is 2-3 hours away from home. Aahhhh… I wanted to put up my own business. Have to work on it someday…

Single lady blues..
I know my time to become a married woman would come. But don't tell me when to get married. The right person would come along. The right place would be found. The right time would be when me and my partner knew it is time.
